Why is it that half the other classes got to stay home but we did not. That is unjust and should be illegal! I'm just joking but I think knowing the fact that half the school was at home today made the day just that much more boring. I was glad when school ended. I went out for a smoothie with Felicia and then came home and when I got home, after visiting the supermarket with my aunt first, I made dinner. Spaghetti and minced meat sauce, so good! And I'm glad that now I actually know how to make it myself. Other than that I've just been relaxing and watching some of the songs that might go through to the eurovision song contest.
I was not too impressed so instead I'll be picking a different song as the song of the day which is 'Dead man walking' by The Script. Ever since Olivia posted 'this is love' I've been listening to their album and really loving it so I think this is not the last you'll hear of them.
I say hurray to a free day as tomorrow is the first of May. :)
Yours sincerely,
Eli

If you let me
Almost finished with my room now!!!
Sorry about the mess that is my bed... I'm not exactly a neat person.
So on the picture you can see my new bookshelf, and the bright thing on the left is the window if someone wanted to know.
Pretty much all of my day was used to finding a good bookshelf and putting it together and unpacking my stuff. But I also had time for an evening run and some strawberry eating (whoop whoop).
The favourite song of today is "Take Care" by Drake ft. Rihanna. Although personally I like the cover by Florence + The Machine better (surprising, huh?) so I will post both videos below.
Hope you all take care of yourselves this week.
Yours sincerely
Olivia
Stronger
I didn't do much today. I woke up almost at 1 then ran to the supermarket and when I came back I made a salad and then sat with my aunt and had a lovely lunch. After that I talked to my sister for a while which was great because I missed her and finally, I did nothing much. I watched TV and chatted which was also great, especially the chatting part. Nonetheless, I had a great day :D
That's it from me really :)
The song of the day is stronger by Kanye West, judging by the comments people made it wasn't a very popular song because he 'stole it' from Daft Punk but I actually like it. I love Daft Punk too but this one is not bad either.
Yours sincerely,
Eli

...or Russia
I have been cleaning and moving things around all day today, but I'm not quite finished yet. My room looks a bit messy right now but tomorrow I'm going to buy a new bookshelf and tidy up the last couple of things. That is why I'm not posting any pictures, I don't want you to see it until it's completely finished! But I can say this much, it looks bigger after all the throwing of stuff that I've been doing.
I thought that I would continue with the Eurovision Song Contest theme and chose a...special song...as the favourite of today. It's from Russia and I really don't know what is going on, but I thought that I needed some new perspectives of music so here it is: "Party For Everybody" by something I can't pronounce. Or write. Or understand.
I'm laughing so hard right now, I LOVE these ladies! Hope you all do too.
Yours sincerely

Wooooo! GERMANY!!!
I knew today would be a good day! Went swimming with some friends which was great. We swam for a few hours going on the slides, jumping around and just having fun then we went out for some food. I love kebab! After that some ben and jerry's ice cream. It was funny because we were sitting and just enjoying our ice cream and when we were done this random drunk dude came up to one of my friends and starts asking him something random. I think he was asking for 'the drugs' or something like that. Either way we ended that awkward situation by getting up and walking to the bus stop where I just watched my bus drive away. I had to wait another half an hour but it was ok. We walked to the main bus station, waited a little then I said goodbye and I was off. Unfortunately, I got a really irritating headache which is still lingering as I write which is why I am not filling you with details. Either way, just know that I had a pretty great day! :)
Before we went swimming we passed through town and there was some lady belly dancing. It was interesting.
And as for the song of the day. I picked this years eurovision song contest Roman Lob because he is the German representative. I was sooooooooooooo incredibly happy when I heard this because I really didn't want my own countries singer to sound like crap so when it was actually good, I was thrilled! Not sure if he will win, after all, Swedens representative is also really good but at least I like them both and think that the German singer is good. For now, I am content.
Yours sincerely,
Eli

Standing Under A White Flag
I've put most of the things in my room in moving boxes and it feels really empty now. No I'm not about to move, I'm refurnituring my room a bit. It's amazing how much weird and wacky stuff you find! Now I'm laughing at myself for making the most un-funny pun this week -I'm not even sure that it counts as a pun-, and believe me I've made some extremely dull pun-jokes the last couple of days.
Anyway, the best thing I found was the cable to my camera charger, so tomorrow I will publish some pics of my "new" room, hopefully.
The favourite song of today is "This Is Love" by The Script, because we all need to feel love sometimes, or rather all the time.
Hope you all feel loved!
Yours sincerely

Everything in moderation
By 9:10am today, I was done with school. I only had one lesson and it was pointless going. If it wasn't for my overly guilty conscience I probably wouldn't have gone, I didn't do anything anyway but at least I saw my friends. That's always an upside. Other than that I've been feeling bad today. I woke up with plans to go to school then go swimming for about an hour or more but I felt so bad I ended up just coming home and sleeping and sleeping... and sleeping some more! A bit too much. I almost literally stayed in bed all day and I have gone back to feeling bad again. Aaaaaah! Anyway let's hope tomorrow is a brighter day. I'll be going swimming with my friends so that should be fun. One great thing of my day though was that I got to talk to my sister who is in Australia. It was great because I miss her so much.
I played with this picture a little using an app on my phone but this is how I was feeling today.
So the song of the day. Around the World by Daft Punk, I appreciate the weirdness of the video and love the band so, enjoy!
I hope you have a great weekend ahead of you!
Yours sincerely,
Eli

They stole my name!
I'm so tired so I'm keeping this short. Well, there's not much to say anyway. We finally finished the history reports and handed them in so I feel like a weight was just been lifted. Other than that I've been feeling zombified. Anyway a good nights sleep should fix that so good night :)
And I found a band with my name in it (thieves) so I thought I'd put it. It's not exactly my type of music but it's not a bad song either and... THEY STOLE MY NAME!!! I just had to put it. But they probably pronounce it different because mine is short for Elisabeth. Anyway enjoy!
Yours sincerely,
Eli

It don't matter if you're Tanzanian or Swedish
FFFIIIIINNAAALLLLYYYY!!!!!! That was the feeling I had when I left school today after sending in my history report. So now I'm just going to relax this weekend. I think I might move the furniture around in my room to change things up a bit and perhaps also get my stuff in some order...
My day started with a national test in Swedish. You were supposed to write an essay in three hours, which was a bit excessive since we only had to write between 300-600 words and I took my time (I mean really took my time) and I sat for two hours. Now the only thing I can do is wait for the result and hope for the best.
The favourite song of today is a classic; "Black or White" by Michael Jackson, because errmm... perhaps because my history essay wasn't supposed to be either black or white but in a greyzone inbetween. Okay, that didn't make any sense but you know what I mean.
Early night tonight (kind of)!
Yours sincerely

I'm convinced it works
We're not going to talk much about the history essay. Both of us have been working hard on it and the only thing we will tell you now is that by tomorrow we should be done. Both of us.
I'm sure you've heard loads of times that classical music helps when you need to study or when you are doing homework but how many of us actually sit and listen to Beethoven or Mozart when we are studying? Actually Eli does sometimes although not the orchestra versions of it. As both of us being guitar lovers we sometimes listen to beautiful acoustic guitar playing. No singing, no other instruments, just sheer plain guitar playing. The sound is heavenly so the song of the day is Don Ross' acoustic guitar version of Gnarls Barkley's song 'Crazy'. We hope you enjoy.
A little tip: try listening to this type of music when you are stressed or doing homework or studying and see if it helps.
Leave us a comment and tell us if it worked for you :)
Yours sincerely,
Nasch

Rumour Has It
I just cried watching "Desperate Housewives". I almost shocked myself because I never cry when I'm watching a series or a movie. I really don't know why I started to weep, I mean one of the husbands on the lane died and had a funeral with flashbacks and sad children and extremely emotional wives, but that usually doesn't trigger my tear channals. Ah well, I'm probably just a normal hormonal teenager with a over-emotional day.
The favourite song of today is "Rumour has it" by Adele, who I think has an AMAZING voice.
I won't take up anymore of your time today because I've got history to do!
Yours sincerely
Olivia
Just want it done
I'll do this now as this is probably the only time I'll have. I've been doing my history work since I came home and am currently still doing it. I just want to have it done with and my deadline is on Thursday so getting it done would be a good idea. As for today, I started school at 11:15 and my first lesson was physical education so it was great. The downside was a two hour long maths lesson where I really couldn't seem to concentrate and do my work. I think the feeling was shared though. So I took some random pictures when we got a break.
And the song of the day is Dressed in Dresden by The Hundred in The Hands. I have no idea what the video I found has to do with the song but there you go. You never know, you might like the video so I hope you enjoy!
Now, I feast on some scrumptious pancakes before resuming my work.
Yours sincerely,
Eli

Lady in the microphone
I finally got some history done!!! That is great news, it means that there is a hope I will finish this thing before Thursday. See, I knew I would. Yesterday I did quite a bit of research and today as well. Feels good. I stayed at town though, pretty much the whole day. After school, so around 4pm, Felicia and I went to the big library in town (so, not the schools library) and we sat and did our work till the lady in the microphone chased us out at 7:50pm. It was funny actually because we were spending the last few minutes checking food out on tumblr when all of a sudden a voice comes out of nowhere telling us the library is closing in ten minutes. I freaked out a little but at least I was packing my bag and looking at the pictures. Felicia was focused quite deeply on the computer so when she heard the announcement she freaked out and almost slammed her laptop shut. Ah, it's good to have a good laugh sometimes.
It's hard to take a picture when you're laughing so hard.
I started listening to The Hundred in the Hands and I am loving their music right now. Today the song I was hooked on was and still is 'lovesick (once again)'. Enjoy! And a bonus I'm sure you already noticed. I FINALLY FIGURED OUT HOW TO PUT THESE VIDEOS ON THE BLOG!!! :D So proud of myself.
Yours sincerely,
Eli
Nope. Still got braces.
Almost my whole day has been bad. It started with me going to the dentist and finding out that I'm going to have my train rail braces (that I was supposed to get rid of today) at LEAST until the end of summer. When I went to school afterwards I was in a really bad mood and realising that I forgot my oboe and cell phone at home didn't exactly raise my spirit. Besides this I've had other small missfortunes during the day, for example I dropped my calendar in the stairs and all the papers I keep in it went all over the steps.
Luckily I have some absolutely crazy friends who can cheer me up so my day was not totally useless, but it was not exactly a good day for me.
I'm going to stop complaining now and tell you the song of the day which, once again, is by Florence + The Machine. The link to "Kiss With a Fist" can be found right here:
Never never land awaits me!

Motto of the day
Ah, I finally got some history done! Not enough though... I'm doomed. But hopefully I will get it done before Thursday, not sure it will be great though. Anyway I still had a great day today. I was woken up to a text from someone special and ended up chatting the whole day so it was great! But I did get some history done, I'm not kidding about that part.
Ah, but that's all I have to say. Not so much has been going on this weekend so not much to report. Just know I had a great day!
So the song of today. I came across this song by accident and I love it. Actually, I'm a big fan of Timbaland. Not sure I can think of a song of his that I don't like. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFdOZdEJ958&feature=relmfu

If I only had that voice...
Today I've been playing oboe the whole day. Well I was supposed to, at least, but I played about 20 minutes then I had a break. Then I played for another 20 minutes and then I had another HOUR of nothing to do. Unbelievably useless waste of time, I could have written my history report instead!
I'm actually looking forward to tomorrow. I know what you're thinking, how can anyone look forward to an ordinary monday filled with school? It's not school I'm looking forward to, but tomorrow morning I'm going to take my braces out! If everything goes as planned, that is...
The favourite song of today is by Florence + The Machine. I know that I've chosen a lot of their songs as the fav of the day, but I think their music is really great and the singer really has an extraordinary voice. If I had that kind of voice I would have conquered the world right now by manipulating people with my...extraordinarity. Aaaanyway, the song is called "Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)" and the link to it is right here:
I hope that a good -no, great week is awaiting you all!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FELICIA!!!
Today will not be all about us, instead it will be about our friend FELICIA because it's her birthday!!! It would be great if we could surprise her with a big birthday party or something of the sort but today she's at home with her family so instead we will celebrate her birthday by advertising it on the internet!!! :D Of course, we did give her a present though. During the Easter break we bought Felicia a coca cola lip balm and coconut package from the body shop. We wanted to treat her to a home spa day so this is what we got.
So as you might have already suspected, the song of today is going to be a happy birthday song and here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tM9bFVNckGs&feature=endscreen&NR=1
Just kidding, to Felicia... You still have a long life ahead of you and it will be great! So here's the real song of the day. "Birthday" by The Beatles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHRMX9Brq0s
One more time HAPPY BIRTHDAY FELICIA!!! We hope you have a great day and year ahead of you :D
Yours sincerely,

Half afro... It's a half-ro!
System malfunction or something. That's how my day at school started. See, I had an appointment with the student counselor or adviser or whatever it is because I need to talk about Uni options and my subject choices for next year and stuff but apparently my appointment was booked at the same time as another girl so I just thought 'it's fine, I can talk to him next week' so I told him that without realising he wouldn't be free till FRIDAY!!! A whole week till my meeting, so annoying! But it's ok, I will talk to him and it will be fine. Also, Olivia was home sick today which was upsetting because we missed her but at least she stayed home and rested herself and is hopefully feeling better now. On the unfair side, she got to stay home and lie in bed on one of the best days to do just that because it was cold, dark and raining. Perfect weather for staying in bed! No fair.
Other than that, I opened my hair today after a week of having it braided then, because I told a friend I would, went to school with it big and bushy without washing it first. It was great, I was wearing my version of an afro. When I got home I washed it down so enjoy the several pictures I took. I was feeling a little bit egotistical today :D
While it was still braided.
Still the snake like braids on.
Just opened, not brushed.
Just brushed!
Believe it, that's not the back of my head.
Told you! :P
And after having washed my hair. Amazing transformation, isn't it?
But I must say my favourite picture of today is the following.
I just love playing with my hair.
So I will be going with a Jack Johnson song for today which is You and Your Heart. I love his songs. The beats are always good, his voice is great and the lyrics are beautiful so I hope you can see that too. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWVnZAJaq4Q

What do you mean short?
No not me! I'm quite tall actually, I am going to keep the post very short today since I'm about to pass out from lack of sleep. And when I say very short I mean very short.
Fav song of the day? "Houdini" by Foster the People. Link here:
Big sleepy hugs to you all!

Indirectly self inflicted
I knew today would be great! A short day such as this one can not possibly not be great but it was not the greatest, just great. It could have been the greatest if I didn't have any history homework (or any homework for that matter) to do or if internet was great all around the world. Ah, I enjoy days like these. Next time I should go swimming after school though. Hmm, why didn't I think of that earlier? Ow, but I do have a reason why today or rather this week feels like Karma is trying to teach me a small but painful lesson. Since Monday I've been either finding cuts on my hands or getting cuts on my hands, today was the worst though and I have to say it is all my fault.
I would tell you all the cuts I got but I feel that is unnecessary to I'll just tell you about the funniest and dumbest (from my side) ones that I got, all having been received today. First, I stole Olivia's eraser and while she was trying to get it back she accidentally scratched me and then a short while after that while trying to somehow steal Felicia's phone she ended up scratching me a little too. I have a grand total of 3 paper cuts, 2 scratches and one mysterious scratch that I don't know how I received. I know these cuts are relatively small but they are annoyingly painful, especially paper cuts! Those are usually the worst.
So the pictures I took today are just 2 bad pictures of my cuts, if you can see them and if you think they are tiny and nothing to complain about well, then... Don't judge me!

The tiny, barely visible red dot on my middle finger.
The red dot! If you can't see it, get your eyes checked... Or maybe I'm seeing things. Hmm. No, get your eyes checked.
The song of today. Ok, so this isn't exactly a song you would want to give your full attention to plus it's quite long so here's what you do. Get the song on your mp3, phone, whatever and listen to it while walking in the street or when you're cleaning your room or something. Trust me, it will give a bounce to your step. It did for me and the song iiiiiiiiiissssssss BUMPIN BY BASTILLE! Here's the link, enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOW29Jw8YfM
People I wish you a great Friday, try and enjoy it to the fullest!
Yours sincerely,
Eli.

Well it's earlier than yesterday...
It was actually light outside at 8 pm today! That was not the case five days ago, it was almost pitch black at 8 then. SUMMER IS COMING! It's quite ironic that I say that since it snowed yesterday. I feel like it's almost never spring or fall in Sweden, only a week or two, the rest is summer or winter. Not that I'm complaining or anything...
My Swedish speech that I held today was 6 seconds too long. So that means that I may have failed, but hopefully the teacher might cut me some slack and blame it on technical difficulties. But the thing is that I get a grade in this course, and the speech was a part of the national tests which means that it is very important for my grade. A funny thing happened during the speech, though. I was suppose to ask the class: "Have you ever sung or played an instrument together with someone else? Maybe just casually sung with your friends in the corridor?" But just before I was going to say this I thought of singing in the shower, so instead I said:"Have you ever sung or played an instrument together with someone? Maybe sung together with a friend in the shower?" After I said this the whole class, luckily, started to laugh, so to continue my presentation I said: "I'm not judging anyone..."
The favourite song of today is "Break Even" by The Script, just because I feel like it. Linkkkkkkk:

Ships ahoy!
So in actual fact the chemistry test wasn't AS bad as I had thought but then again it was chemistry, no matter what I get it's bad because without a doubt I just plain dislike the subject. Anyway, other than that I talked to my school nurse today and she gave me some sheets with these exercises you can do for back aches and some other upper body aches. I always have a back ache and I think or at least I thought it was because I always carry a heavy bag but today our nurse and health care officer gave us a presentation on stress and sleep and one of the effects of stress is back aches. I knew that you could get muscle aches from stress but I never related it to myself, I could have thought of it thought because I stopped carrying a heavy bag most of the time.
I can share this information with you someday but as for today I am tired so forgive me. Well, that's about all I have for today.
I hope you have a great Thursday! I know I will because I will finish school early :D

I'm quite impressed by this drawing. I found it drawn on the white board when I entered the classroom for the chemistry test. Little skills, big impression.
And finally, the song of the day is What would you do by Bastille. The song is actually Bastille's cover of City High's song so I will give you the link to both. I prefer Bastille's version over City High's because that's my type of music but you might take it the other way. See for yourself :)
Yours sincerely,
Eli
P.S. Somebody comment and tell Olivia she should be sleeping earlier :P

Bloody chemistry! Oh wait, it's organic chemistry...
Okay chemistry, I'm going to fail you tomorrow, but I have better things to do so too bad for you! Well, really too bad for me but you know...
I've been really tired the whole day and therefore I've been acting kind of crazy. I got some funny looks but it was actually quite hilarious just being completely mental most of the day. Anyway, I'm freaking out about my Swedish speech tomorrow (or it's actually later today) since I started three hours ago and I'm afraid that it is too long. But other than that the speech is quite okay for being made the night before.
The favourite song of today is from the True Blood series (the books are okay, the TV-series are a perverted) and it is called "Bleed To Feed" by Cc Adcock & The Lafayette Marquis. Here you have the bloody link:
Sleep tight you all.

HARIBO macht kinder froh und erwachsene ebenso
I have a chemistry test that spells my doom for tomorrow but I'm not taking chemistry next year and this is my last test so YAY!!! Can't wait till it's over!
As for the day I am currently living in, didn't do much just found out a lot of my classes are cancelled for instance, on Friday I start school at 10:30am rather than 8:10am because my maths lesson was moved. It is great. I get to sleep in.

Haribo macht kinder froh und erwachsene ebenso: Kids and grown ups love it so, the happy world of Haribo. Although the more literal translation to English from German is 'Haribo makes children happy and adults as well'. Not as fun to say though.
As for the song of the day, it is Pigeons by The Hundred in The Hands. My brother gave me a list of musicians to listen to and I haven't listened to all of them yet but he sent me the link to this song and I love it but the beginning of the video is gross, just warning you! The rest of the video is cool though and interesting so Enjoy! Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAfEvvnzlwQ

Summer Paradise
My Swedish teacher is psyching me out. She keeps telling me that the Swedish subject choice I want to take for next year is going too be too hard for me. Somebody please save me! Ah, you know what? I will be fine! Just fine! And I'm probably going to France next year. I'm both nervous and excited because although I love to travel, my French is quite rusty.
Other than that, first day of school was not too bad. Still wish I was still in my Easter holidays though. Never mind, the sooner it starts, the sooner it ends and Summer shall arrive soon enough. I'm really looking forward to summer and missing the last one I had. I'll keep counting the days down and soon enough it will be here again.

I didn't take this picture but it is a little island in Tanzania (Dar es salaam) called Bongoyo. I went there last summer and I would love to go back.
Well, that brings me to the song of the day which is Summer Paradise by Simple Plan featuring Sean Paul. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjHlgrGsLWQ

Relaxing in some ugly clothes
I did absolutely nothing productive today. I was all computerized the whole day and I don't feel bad at all. Kind of. But I thought since I've been so productive this whole break I deserved at least one day that would be wasted.
I did start reading a book for my Swedish speech though, a book about fans and their relationship to the famous person they are fans of. Quite interesting actually how people feel like they know an artist so well that they feel like they're biologically related to them.
I finished my evening with a run in the forest, again, this time with my sister so it was quite nice.
Last night before school starts again...enjoy!
Yours sincerely

Göta Kanal
I went to sleep today and I woke up today and I awoke to a great day too! I went to a place called Göta Kanal with my aunt. It really was very pretty but it wasn't really flowing today so I have to go back in Summer and enjoy a little swimming then as well. I was also doing a little reading up on this place today and found out that it was built in the early 1800s. I think it was used for transport so that's interesting.
Anyway that's about all I will tell you, the rest I express in pictures because I took quite a few.
I love the trees here.
I don't know where people get the idea to throw a hat on top of that thing. Just funny to me though.
Ow, and I found out that they sell one of my favourite ice creams somewhere in this town. I found Tiramisu ice cream today and I loved it. I used to buy that flavour along with hazelnut all the time in Tanzania.
Aaaaahhhh!!! Why is tomorrow Monday!? I want to stay home and sleep! Anyway I guess you can understood that I'm not looking forward to tomorrow so much because there is school.
So today's song of the day is a simple one. Simple as in basically just a nice beat but still enjoyable. Here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IPS4u4fUEo
Wishing you all a lovely week, work hard and dream towards the weekend while still trying to enjoy every minute of the week.
Your sincerely,
Eli
